The secretary of the interior has instructed the BLM to better incorporate eBikes into their management strategy.
Electric assist mountain bikes, known as eMTBs or as eBikes, refer to class 1 bikes with a max of 750 watts of assistance actuated through pedaling. The BLM has been instructed to implement these into its trail access, and currently the BLM has a proposal open for public comment until early June.
